Apoorv Karmakar
Apoorv Karmakar serves as the Managing Director at Amplio Ventures and the Fund Manager for the Amplio Ventures’ Fund I: Refugee Employment Venture Fund (“REVF”). In his current role, Apoorv leads the fund’s investments in high-growth potential, seed stage, digital workplace solutions and is responsible for managing the fund’s investment portfolio. He joined Amplio Ventures from Village Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm in Washington, DC, where he was instrumental in helping the firm find, train, and invest in startups at the forefront of impact innovation in financial health, sustainability, and the future of work across the globe. Apoorv also serves as an advisor to several early-stage startups outside of Amplio Ventures’ portfolio, advising entrepreneurs on a variety of different topics including how to develop and execute milestone-based strategic roadmaps, raise investments, and scale their ventures.In the past, Apoorv has worked as a macro and geopolitical strategist, attorney, and an international tax professional. Prior to his foray into venture capital, Apoorv had founded a law firm in New Delhi, India, and led its successfully merger into a Tier 1 firm. Apoorv has B.A. and LL.B. from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in India, a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, and Masters in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology.
